Ability Safety Training & Certification Courses delivered on-site meet the requirements of the Work at Height Regulations 2005 and section 2(2) of the Health & Safety etc., Act 1974.

The courses have been developed through industry standard methods of operating (modus operandi), best practice and experience and includes relevant information and guidance from CITB, BSi, Dti & HSE.  They are being continually refined and updated with new information, legislation etc.,

INFORMATION & Extracts from Statutory Instruments (the Law).

Section 2(2) of the H S W Act requires the employer to provide “Such information, instruction and training and supervision as is necessary to ensure, so far as is reasonably practical, the health and safety of his employees”.

The Work at Height Regulations 2005 requires “Every employer shall ensure that no person engages in any activity, including organisation, planning and supervision, in relation to work at height or work equipment for use in such work unless he is competent to do so or, if being trained, is being supervised by a competent person”.

Most training sessions are intended to be conducted with a ratio of approximately 1:10 Instructor to Trainees.  All courses are flexible and can be tailored to suit individual trainee and course requirements.  Each trainee receives a folder pack of information and a certificate of attendance is forwarded to the delegates company, to be passed on to each newly trained individual.

Ability Certification is valid for the normal working life of the individual (unless otherwise stated) as each course module includes instruction on HSE publications and services, so delegates can periodically keep themselves updated on any matters affecting their original training status with regard to new information, guidance and regulations.  Also, Ability training staff can be contacted during normal working hours for advice on the latest standards and regulations.
